Lorne - Devlog 07
I’ve started working on some of the art assets because I was ahead with my programming, I wanted a change of pace, and I knew who I wanted the visuals of the game to look and if I made some myself I could set an example that would be easier to follow than some concept sketches. I just made a few simple things like stairs, floor tiles, etc. The most beneficial thing that came from making these assets was a set of smart materials that everyone else could use for their own assets. This would keep the look of everything consistent.
I worked on all visual stuff this week because the other thing that I did was to convert the project to HDRP. The biggest concern I had with converting the project was updating all the materials but they were able to be converted automatically so overall the process went smoothly. The biggest problem was updating the lighting. The lighting wasn’t all that great at the time so it wasn’t that big of a deal to update it.
