For this week I was re-creating all of the pillars again just due to the model and things not working out well for the textures.

So Lorne got me to redo the pillars which I was fine with because I didn’t like how the textures looked so Lorne showed me an easier and quicker way of making the pillars, we started off in maya and I made just the base model for the pillar into segments, then once that was done we moved onto importing those models into zbrush for finer details, when I made the first set of pillars I went about it a way that I knew but I found out that there is a faster way of getting the same result.

So I continued on with creating the pillars and adding the finer detail in zbrush and this took me about 3/4 of the week and I had no issues all they way through with this task and It was great because I have the knowledge of creating the pillars so it was a breeze.

For the remaining time that I had after creating the pillars I had to texture them as well, when I was about to texture them from scratch Lorne told me that he had an updated smart material of the previous smart material that we had been using for everything, It has less green in it unlike the old one and it rounds it out better having less green.

I applied that material and we had a decent look at the model with it on just in case it looked bad and we needed to redo the texture, but we all gave the green light to move onto the next stage which was exporting the textures and importing the model and textures into the unity scene.
